highlights：1、3' endadenylation increases the probability for retention in cells, and this probability increases proportionally with the number of added A's.2、3'-end uridylatedmiRNA isoforms are overrepresented in exosomes3、NTA modifications act as a small RNA sorting signal beyond the class of miRNAs, also found in Y RNAs.4、Enrichment of 3' uridylated miRNAs in exosomes may thus be explained by preferentialrelease or could be due to a high turnover incells compared to exosomes.
